This 100% natural face cream is soothing my seriously dry skin

Fall is here and the cold weather is attacking my skin. My face feels tight, it is itchy, it is cracked. It is horrible.

I am currently in the process of working towards a toxic-free, clean beauty routine. I have been using the Burt’s Bees Natural Acne Solutions Moisturizing Lotion ($25), which is great, but not hydrating enough for how dry my skin has been getting. I have combination skin that is simultaneous dry and oily, which makes it challenging to find hydrating products that work for me.

Pomegranate Day Cream

I recently switched over to using the Rocky Mountain Soap Co. Pomegranate Day Cream ($35) and it has made a world of difference in less than a week. Rocky Mountain Soap Co. is a 100% natural, cruelty-free brand that is handmade in Canmore, Calgary.

Ingredients

The main ingredient of this product is pomegranate, an anti-oxidant that prevents the production of free radicals on your skin. This ingredient also adds a nice, natural fragrance to the product. It is packed with coconut oil, shea butter, jojoba oil and some citrus.

Packaging

As with many natural beauty brands, the product comes in a glass jar. I personally like this because the weight of the packaging makes it feel more luxurious. It is also a great bonus that the packaging can be recycled after, or even repurposed to store things like DIY face masks. The negative with glass packaging is that it is not travel-friendly and has the potential to break.

About the Product

When you first touch the cream, it seems like it is going to be way too heavy duty for a day cream. It requires a bit of massaging to get the product to actually absorb into the skin. Once it is fully blended, it does not feel greasy or make my skin look too oily throughout the day. I love that this works well under makeup, and prevents foundation from emphasizing my dry patches after hours of wear. This cream is completely saving me from the discomfort of seasonal dry skin.
