5 Dupes to Buy Next Time You Are At the Drugstore

It is no secret that drugstore brands have stepped up their game up in the last few years. Not only are brands releasing many new products every season, but the formulas rival  those of high-end companies. I love to use affordable makeup as a part of my everyday routine for products that I go through quickly because it saves me a lot of money. These five dupes are my personal favourites that perform almost identically to the more expensive counterparts.

Cream Highlight

If you love: Glossier Haloscope ($27)
Try: Maybelline Facestudio Master Strobing Stick ($12)

This stick highlighter is insanely creamy. It layers really well on top of foundation and looks beautiful on its own. All I do it swipe it onto my skin and pat it gently with my fingers to make sure that there are no harsh lines. It is the perfect balance between a dewy and metallic finish. I also really love that this doesn’t accentuate the size of my pores.

Liquid Eyeliner

If you love: Stila Stay All Day Waterproof Liquid Eyeliner ($29)
Try: L’Oreal Infallible Super Slim Eyeliner ($12)

Both of these products have felt-tip applicators that are extremely thin. It allows you to build up the thickness of the wing exactly how you like it, and creates a really clean looking line. The L’Oreal product is actually more of a matte black which I prefer the finish of. It is long-wearing and doesn’t transfer throughout the day. Every time I use this, my eyeliner turns out perfectly.

Eyeshadow Primer

If you love: Smashbox 24 Hour Photo Finish Shadow Primer ($26)
Try: Milani Eyeshadow Primer ($7)

Whether you have oily eyelids or are just looking to intensify the colour of your eyeshadow, this primer is the perfect product. It blends out into a nude tone, and helps your eyeshadow to blend evenly on top.

Eyebrow Pencil

If you love: Anastasia Beverly Hills Brow Wiz ($27)
Try: L’Oreal Brow Stylist Definer ($12)

If I could only use one product for the rest of my life, it would be the Brow Stylist Definer. The thin tip allows you to create precise strokes that look like real hair. I have repurchased this product quite literally 20+ times. I go through brow pencils at a ridiculous rate, so I love that this product is high quality but a cheaper alternative to the ABH Brow Wiz.

If you love: Too Faced Better Than Sex Mascara ($30)
Try: L’Oreal Voluminous Lash Paradise Mascara ($14)

When L’Oreal released this mascara earlier this year, I bought it strictly because of the fact that the packaging looked suspiciously similar to the Better Than Sex. It turns out, it performs almost identically to its high-end twin. It makes your lashes really long and full. I love that it gives my lower lashes a ’60s look. It is a staple in my makeup bag.

  1. I think I’ll try and use Maybelline Facestudio Master Strobing Stick. I have never ever used any this kind of sticks before (: BTW, I love this kind of posts. Thank you for this one :*
