Glossier’s cult beauty brand has taken over the Instagram accounts of cool girls from all different parts of the interweb. Sporting their fresh looking makeup, the girls have a sexy, undone look that is based around hydrated, healthy-looking skin. The problem for some of us is that achieving the look can be a little difficult when the products don’t ship to your country. *sigh*
Below you will find how to get Glossier’s natural, dewy skin look without the Glossier.
Use a base that will even out your skin tone and leaves it looking hydrated. Glossier is all about letting your freckles and imperfections show through. I love the Smashbox Camera Ready BB Cream ($50) because it doesn’t make my skin too oily and has SPF. The Glossier look doesn’t include any powder products, but if you get really oily in the t-zone, a little bit of translucent powder can be a big life saver.
If you have any problem areas you need to be covered, apply a full coverage concealer with a small brush to the area. For undereye coverage, use your fingers and gently pat makeup over dark circles. The warmth of your fingers will melt the product into your face, leaving you with a more natural finish. I’m using the classic NARS Radiant Creamy Concealer ($37).
In order to add some more moisture and glow to the face, apply the Milk Makeup Sunshine Oil ($46) to the tops of your cheekbones and a little bit on your nose. This all-over oil helps to create the appearance of a glow from within and provides extreme moisture for the skin.
I cannot express to you how badly I want to try the Cloud Paint by Glossier. In all of the posts promoting the product, the women wear it alone on the cheeks rather than using a bronzer or contour. I think that this look is really fresh. Choose a long-wear blush in a colour that is similar to the look of your skin if you were to pinch your cheeks gently. I currently love the Tarte Amazonian Clay 12-Hour Blush ($35) in the shade Paaarty. Apply it to the apples of the cheeks, and blend toward your hairline for a more natural look.
Glossier products are always either in a liquid or balm formula. Use a liquid highlight on the high points of your face – the top of the cheekbones, the bridge of your nose, above the brow, your cupids bow and even a little bit on your chin. Basically, put it everywhere. The Maybelline Master Strobing Liquid in 100 Light ($10) gives you that wet skin effect without it looking too glittery.
To lock everything in place and help the makeup appear like it really is your skin apply a setting spray. The Pixi Makeup Fixing Mist with Rose Water & Green Tea ($25) adds hydration, sets your face and smells absolutely amazing.
