Nothing emphasizes dry patches more than a full-coverage foundation.
It is commonly believed that BB cream is meant for summer days when there is fear of foundation melting right off. In reality, the product works just as well – if not better – in winter months.
As skin gets chapped and dry, bb cream offers extra hydration to the skin – combating the effects of cold weather. Foundation often clings to dry patches, emphasizing them. Using a bb cream, or mixing one into your foundation will sheer down the coverage, but leave the overall complexion of your skin looking more natural and smooth.
A real life image of me and my dry skin!!! Wow! Nature!
My skin has been breaking out like crazy the last few months, and I have found myself reaching for my most full coverage foundations on a daily basis. I realized a few weeks ago that this heavy makeup was actually clogging my pores more, and the texture was making the breakouts more obvious.
Instead, I now apply a bb cream, and spot conceal using the Urban Decay Naked Concealer. My current favourite is Covergirl Clean Matte BB Cream for Oily Skin. I apply it with my fingers, and then blend out any streaks with my Beauty Blender. It does a good job of evening out my skin tone, it stays in place all day, and does not oxidize.
