DIY Sea Salt Spray

As much as I love spending time carefully applying my makeup (or putting on my face as my grandmother would have said), I am so lazy when it comes to my hair. The only styles I like require no heat, and minimal effort. For this reason, messy beach waves are my holy grail summer hairstyle.

Every time I use sea salt spray in my hair, I am plagued by the fact that I paid $20 for something I could have made with things I already have in my house. Mix together the ingredients below, spray it into damp hair, and get ready to run in slow motion down a beach (Γ  la Baywatch).

Ingredients:

  • Spray Bottle
  • 1 Cup of Hot Water
  • 1 or 2 tbsp of Sea Salt
  • 1 tbsp of Coconut Oil
  • Dime Sized Drop of Hair Gel

Measure out your ingredients into hot water to ensure that everything will melt together. If you have dry hair, consider putting less salt into your mix. The hair gel is included to assist with holding your waves in place. You can also include a few drops of essential oils to give your spray a scent, but I personally love the smell of coconut oil so I leave it as is.
