Spring is officially upon us. With the return of iced coffees, florals, and shaved legs, comes an abundance of reminders that so-called bikini season is lurking in the near future. Promises of get-fit-fast guides and the latest diets are annoying enough to deal with – let alone actually stepping foot in a gym.

I grew up as a competitive dancer, currently dance in a heels company and work as an instructor; however, gym culture is one of the least appealing things to me. There are the mega-hot people who (whether I like it or not) I immediately compare myself to. There are the obnoxious grunters, girls who loudly gossip the whole time, that one old guy in really tight shorts, and the person who spends more time on their phone than actually working out.

Save yourself from gym culture. Below are a list of exercises that you can do while you get ready in the morning to feel strong, and help wake you up so you are ready to take on the world.
